The Arizona Council of Administrators in Special Education honored Desert Meadows principal Steve Preis with their Outstanding Leadership Award. This award is given yearly to only one administrator in the state of Arizona. It is awarded to educators who provide outstanding leadership in service to students in special education. Individuals receive recognition when their work improves the outcomes for the special education students at their agency. Preis was recognized for a career of working with students who have behavioral and learning needs that impact their functioning in school and in society. Preis received the award at the Arizona Council for Exceptional Children’s annual conference in February.
